 Muhammad Ali was born on January 17, 1942 in Louisville, Kentucky. His real name is Cassius Marcellus Clay. When Clay was 12 years old, he began boxing under the direction of Joe Martin. He started fight in the amateur ranks and in the 1960 Olympic, he won a gold medal. After this Olympic, he started fight in the professional league. And he became a heavyweight champion. After he fought Liston, Clay was converting nation of Islam. And he went the army 1967, so he had to strip his title. And he returned in 1970, then he won lots of games. In the late 1980s, Ali began suffering from Parkinson's disease. Despite this hurdle, Ali remained active. He formed the Muhammad Ali Community and Economic Development Corporation in Chicago, Illinois, and in 1996 he lit the opening flame at the Olympic Games in Atlanta.
