What have you done well this year in English? Where should you have done better? Reading? Writing? Speaking? What grade do you think you deserve, and why? And next year, should you be in English 10 B Advanced, or English 10 Language A? Write a blog entry in which you discuss and answer these questions.

I did well on reading English Book this year. I had read about 12 or more books this year. I think i read the most books in my class. I have no single "OPTA". However, I read about 30 pages on one day. I didn't do what Mr. Macknight told us. Mr. Macknight told us to read 15minutes everyday but, reading 15minutes aren't enought for me so I just read one or two chapter in one day. Sometimes I read about 100 pages on weekends. Eventually, Reading English books also became one of my habbits.

My speaking was great on the first time, which was talking about "green peace". I find out interesting Green Peace advertisment, so I also used Pictures for my presentation. The hardest part was memorising script. I didn't have to memorise it, I just have to present it but I memorised all of my script, whcih I didn't looked at my speaking script while I was presentation. Therefore, I got grat marks on the speaking task.

I think my writing was good too, but I got poor marks on writing part. The reason I got poor grades are because I just wasted my time. Mr. Macknight give us about 3 periods for finishing writing about the Of mice .... (I forgot the title) however, I just talk talk talk write talk talk talk so I didn't finished my writing, and had to hand it in. However, if i didn't talk talk talk and just write write write, I'm sure that I would got good grades.

Next year, I would be on Language A because I tried hard, studied hard to get in English A. I will not stop even I got into English A. I will show to Language A teacher what Mr. Macknight class was 

Apples and oranges are the most common fruits in our world. We can find them easily anywhere in our world and we can see these fruit every day. However, they have similarities or differences between those fruits. Even apples and oranges are quiet similar, there are some differences of uses, tastes and textures.

First, there are many uses of orange and apples. There are many uses of each fruit. They can be cooked differently. First, Apples are usually used for eating. We can cook many other foods using by apples. For example, we can make apple pie, apple cakes, and salads. We can use apples for drinking. We can make apple juice for drinking. There are many other uses like we can use apple peels for washing things. Oranges are also likely to eat. We can make orange marmalade, orange pie, orange cakes...etc. most of the fruit's uses are similar. But there are different uses of apples and oranges. Oranges can use for making chocolates. The island called Jeju Island is the island which makes orange chocolates. As I said before, there are many uses of oranges and apples, which are quite similar. Making cakes, jams and ice- creams...etc

Second, the taste of apples and oranges are different. Apples and oranges are both sweet originally because people don't like sour apples or oranges. People won't buy fruits if they are very sour. However, there are many tastes in apples. They taste sweet, juicy, also sour, watery...etc. I think most of taste of oranges is sour. Lemon, which is one kind of oranges are vey sour. People only use them for cooking with other ingredients not for eating! There are many kinds of apples and oranges. The each taste of apples and oranges are different. In my opinion, oranges taste better because apples are not that sweet. I love sweet fruits and oranges are sweeter than apples. It is only my opinion and people might think that apples are sweeter than oranges.

Third, the texture of apples and oranges are different. There are many textures of each fruits. Most of fruits feel fresh and juicy because we get waters from eating fruits and if fruits are dry, that can't be fruit. When people bite an apple, it is like hard, and juicy. Apples can't be soft. Moreover, if people bite an orange, it will feel soft and juicy. Oranges contain lots of water. You can see if you peel of orange, water is stored in the thin cover. Like this, they feel same juicy, but apples are hard and oranges are soft. I think oranges are softer than apples because it contains more water than apples.

In conclusion, even apples and oranges are the most common fruits in our world and we can find very easily in our world has many similarities but, they also has differences such as uses, tastes and textures.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (652pages)

This is Harry's 6^th years in the Hogwart. The minister changes to Rufus Scrimgeour since the attacks by Voldmort. Dumbledore takes Harry to persuade professor Slughorn to teach in the Hogwart. Then he takes Harry to the Burrows. After September, Harry goes back to Hogwart. Harry didn't buy his potion book so he got an old book from Slughorn. The book's owner was very intelligent. Harry does what the book says and he got 1^st in his class. Harry gets secret lessons by Dumbledore. Dumbledore tells Harry to kill Voldmort, they have to destroy all the Horcruxes. While Harry and Dumbledore went to a cave to get the Horcrux, Malfoy fixed the machine that can teleport the Death Eaters to Hogwart. Snape kills the Dumbledore and runs away

I would like to be friend with professor Slughorn because he can made the potion called Felix Felicis. Felix Felicis is a potion that can make people lucky. That potion is very hard to make. Only potion master can make it. I will drink every day that potion so I will be the luckiest man in the world.

I enjoyed this book because this series gives me the most information about Voldmort's past.

It also gives mission to Harry. To destroy the Horcruxes. So I'm very curious about next story

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (766pages)

He got attacks by Dementors and goes to the court because he uses magic. This is Harry's fifth year at Hogwart. At the house sorting, the odd thing happens. The sorting hat warns for the Hogwart. The New defense against the dark arts teacher is called "Umbridge" who works for the ministry of the magic. Umbridge gives Harry detention for telling that Lord Voldmort has been returned. Umbridge has been Hogwart's High Inquisitor, and do whatever she wants. However, Harry and his troops gathered and made a club called "DA" but get caught by Umbridge. Dumbledore insist that he made "DA" and runs away before he got caught. In Harry's dream, he always sees the dream of going into Department of Mysteries. At last, he sees his god father, torturing by Voldmort, and he flies to Department of Mysteries, and tries to save it, but it was fake dream. He and his troops fight with Death Eaters, and the Order of the Phoenix comes to rescue them. Harry lost his godfather from there, and escapes from Voldmort.

I liked this story because it was quiet fun, it was the longest series of Harry Potter. I have two more books left, and I'm wondering what to read because all Harry Potter series were intelligent! I have some parts that don't understand, but I have read all Harry Potter series by Korea, so it was not that hard to understand the story.

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (636pages)

Harry wakes up in the nightmare. His scar was burning. He dreams a old man, dies by Voldmort. Soon, he writes a letter to his god father, Serius. In that morning, he receives an invitation card from Ron's family. They invited Harry for Quidditch World Cup. Once more, he frees to Dursely's family. When Harry arrives, there are also Hermione. They wake up early in the Quidditch day. They have to find a thing that called Portkey and flies to the area of Quidditch stadium. The match was Ireland VS Bulgaria. The Ireland wins in very high points. After the match, they all go back to own tents. After few hours, Dead Eater attacks the tent. They play with muggles. Harry, Ron and Hermione protect themselves to the forest. The Dark Mark arises on the sky. The wizards appear and attack Harry, Ron and Hermione. By this Dead Eaters attack, the ministry of magic gets busy. However, Harry arrives to the Hogwart. In Hogwart this year, other schools come to Hogwart and do the game calls Triwizard Tournament. There are 3 champions. One champions each of the school. The age limit is 17. But Harry becomes the fourth champion. There are 3 tasks. First, Harry uses his broomstick to get the golden egg from dragon. Next, he has to breathe underwater and save his friend. From these task, Cedric and Harry is tie for 1^st. Last task is a maze. In front of maze there is cup. Cedric and Harry touch together but the cup was a portkey which flies to Voldmort. In that place, Cedric dies and Harry fights with Voldmort. Luckily, Harry runs away with Cedric's body. Harry gets 1000 galleons, but he gives to George and Fred.

I would like to be friend with Victor Krum, who is the champion of Durmstrang. Also, the Bulgaria quidditch seeker because I can learn other languages. He is from Bulgaria and I can go his house on vacation. I can play quidditch with him and he can teach me how to fly. He is so famous and be his friend will be great honor. I can experience other country's culture too.

I enjoyed reading this book even this book was very thick. My summaries are getting bigger and bigger. I should write it shortly. However, Harry Potter is getting harder and harder. At first, I can understand most of them. But at fourth series, there are many vocabularies I don't know. I should work more in vocabulary.

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (468pages)

This is third years that Harry goes to Hogwart. From third year's students, they visit "Hogsmeade but first, they have to get the parent's permission to go. Harry tries to get the permission. But he got in trouble, with Aunt Margie. Harry blows his Aunt Margie. Then, he gets a letter that he is expulse from school. He goes out and rides "The Night Bus". He meets minister of magic, and he finds out he didn't expel from school. Finally, the summer vacation ends, and Harry goes to the school. At the train, he meets a creature call "Dementor". However, Denmentor is creature which sucks the happiness. Dementor is protecting Hogwarts from "Serious Black". He is a murderer, who finds Harry. Someway how, he goes into Hogwarts and attacks the "Fat Lady portrait". This is serious problem because a murderer came through Hogwart. After the attacks of Black, Harry, Ron and Hermione go to Hagrid's house to see the execution of BuckBig. When they go back to castle, a dog attacks Ron and takes him to the whipping tree. Harry and Hermione follow the dog. When they arrive in a house, they finds out it is not a dog it is Black. But Black tells them that he is not bad person but the mice of Ron are. Ron's mice which is also not a rat, it is a person called "Peter" who betray Harry's parent. So Black was after him. All people were misunderstanding. When they go outside, there were problems. Dementers come and Peter runs away. Black gets caught and just waiting for death. Harry and Hermione used the magic watch, to go back to the past, and save all them.

I'd like to be friend with Hermione because she has a magic watch that can go past. If I be friend with Hermione, maybe I can use the watch... if I did something wrong, or did something regret things, I can go back to the future, and change it. It can be also dangerous so I have to be careful.

Also, I can use my time to study for test. Then, I can be prepared in test.

I enjoyed reading this book. Harry Potter's book is more adventurous when it goes up series. It is also getting thicker which is herder to read. From Harry Potter and the Golbet of Fire series, the size of book changes. It is about 700 pages with almost double size. If I be lazy with reading he book, I can't finish Harry Potter series until the end of semester. So I have to read harder!

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (366 pages)

After coming back from first year at Hogwart, Dudley's family was afraid of Harry. But something was odd. There was no letters from one of his friends at his birthday. Few days later, house elf called Dobby appears and tells Harry he must not go back to Hogwart. But Harry doesn't promise to not go back to Hogwart, and Dobby make him trouble. He closes the gate of train, so Harry and Ron goes to Hogwart by flying car. They got trouble by flying the car. At Halloween, the ghost called Nick invites Harry and friends. After they come back from ghost party, Harry hears weird sound. They find the cat, which was frozen, and words from heir of Slythrin. After this attack, Hogwart make a dueling club for defends. They practice the charms in this club. When Malfoy make snake with his magic wand, the snake was about to attack Justin. Harry says snake language to stop snake attacking Justin. But after he says, people start to suspect Harry is the heir of Slytherin. Meanwhile the attack did not stop and it got worse. Harry finds a diary which is by "Tom Riddle". The diary was full of dark magic. It shows harry that Hagrid opened the chamber 50 years ago. But Harry and Ron find that Hagrid did not opened it and realizes the door of Chamber of Secrets. Hogwart is about to close because Ron's sister was gone to chamber. Harry and Ron go to Chamber of secrets and fight for "Tom Riddle" and come back.

I would like to be friend with Dobby because Dobby is quiet useful. He is house elf, and he does whatever things I ask him. Not a slave and master relationship. I want to be friends with him forever to enjoy life easier. Dobby also cares about others. He has great personality. So I'd like to be friend with him. It will fun when we are friends with magical creature.

I enjoyed reading this book. This was the second series of Harry potter. This time, it was little easy to me write the journal entry. Harry Potter series is fantasy novel and it gave me fun when I read it. Harry defeats Lord Voldmort at each series. While I'm reading this book, I was very eager to know what happens after this. It just likes a drug.

Harry Potter and the Philosopher's stone (332 pages)

Harry Potter, who lives in a attack by Voldmote, sends to his uncle's house because his parents dies by Voldmote. Uncle's family was perfectly normal family. They didn't tell Harry that he is wizard. The strange things happen when Harry got angry. One day, when Harry is about to be 11, a letter come from no one. Uncle didn't sends reply, and the letters keep sends by no one. At last, uncle's family and Harry pack their luggage, and went to a house that no one knows it. When Harry just got 11, someone comes into the house. He is giant, and he is called Hagrid. Hagrid tells Harry that Harry is wizard. He tells how famous Harry is and gives letter. The Hogwart, which was wizard school, wants to admit Harry. Next morning, Hagrid and Harry go to "Diagon Alley" to buy wizard stuff. Hagrid also gives Harry the ticket of Hogwart. In September 1, Harry goes to London station but there was no platform nine and three quarters. He finds another wizard family, and asks them how to go in. It was easy. It was not a wall, you can pass it. Then, he takes a place and goes to Hogwart. When Harry arrive Hogwart, students have to select the houses. There was Griffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw and Slytherin. There was a hat that you just wear it, and it calls out house name. Harry is Griffindor. Harry goes to all lessons, and he realizes that potion teacher, professor Snape really hates him. When it is Halloween the big troll enters the Hogwart. Everyone is scary about troll, so they ran away. Harry and Ron realize that Hermione is at the toilet and troll is going to toilet. Harry and Ron defeats troll. After Halloween, they realize Hogwart is protecting philosopher's stone. They also realize that professor Snape is going to steal that stone. Before Snape steals that, Hermione, Ron and Harry go to the third floor, and pass through all the sections. But it was not Snape that tries to steal stone. There was Voldmote who is going to steal. Harry defeat Voldmote, and save the stone.

I want to be a friend with Harry Potter because he is very famous and I want to be friend with him. I can follow him where ever he goes, then, I can have many fun adventures. I love adventures and I really enjoy adventure. I can learn some magic to Harry. Maybe I can go to Harry's house and play because I'm muggle.

I enjoyed reading this book. But it was very difficult to write journal, because the stories are very long, and I can't write them all. I'm going to read the Harry Potter and the Secret of Chamber. The book is longer than this book, and I'm worrying about writing journals. However, Harry potter's books are long, but while I'm reading book, I really enjoyed it.

Matilda (240 pages)

Matilda who is the genius girl, her speech was perfect when she is one and a half years old. She reads newspaper when she is three, at age of four, she could read books. She goes to library everyday when she was four, and reads most of the books in the library but, her parents are perfectly stupid parents. When dad just ignore Matilda, she revenge him back by putting super glue in his hat, put parrots to pretend there is ghost in house and make father's hair blond by putting some medicine in his hair oil bottle instead of oil. When Matilda goes to school, she was too genius compare with her ages. She realizes that the school's headmistress, Miss Trunchbull is so awful. She is very huge she lifts any kids she can and throws away. She teaches every class once a week. Lavender, who is also clever girl, catches a newt and put in the jug fill with water. When Miss Trunchbull pours some water into her cup, the newt comes out and goes into cup. Miss Trunchbull is so angry about this and just guesses a student who did it. She guesses Matilda did it. Miss Trunchbull didn't listen what Matilda says. Matilda is so angry. She stared at glass. She realizes that the powers goes out from her eyes and tip the glass off. When the class was all over, Matilda goes to Miss Honey's house, who is her teacher. Miss honey lives in a small house where there is no electricity, water and gas. She tells that her aunt takes everything when her parents die. She also tells Matilda that her aunt is Miss Trunchbull. After listening shocking stories, Matilda goes to home and decides to help Miss honey. She practices her laser eyes. Then she can lift a thing, and can move it. The next week, when Miss Trunchbull teaches Matilda's class again, she uses her eye to write in the board saying give the house back to Miss Honey. Miss Trunchbull faints and she leaves her house. Miss Honey gets her house back. Matilda's family went to Spain to run away. Matilda doesn't wants to follow them, so she asks if she could live with Miss Honey. Her parents didn't concern her so they accept that Matilda lives with Miss Honey. Finally, they both live happily ever after.

Of course, I want to be friend with Matilda. But, I think Matilda is too young to be friend with me... maybe she is only about 10 to 14 years old and I am 16yeats old now... however, Matilda is genius girl, and if I be friend with her, maybe I can be genius too... we can study together, read books together, and help each other answering questions. That must be my best friend. Also, maybe I could learn how to use the "laser eye". I could move things by my eyes and that must be a great fun. If Matilda be my friend, my life will be filling of laugh and happiness.

I really enjoyed this book and I think this book is the best book I had ever read. This was little childish for 16years old boy, but I like childish books. It gives me a lot of "laugh". I could laugh while I'm reading and I don't want serious things happen in the book. If there is serious things happen in my reading that is so awful. Soon I will get into sleep. I think this author, Roald Dahl writes many kid books. Like James and the Giant Peach, or Charile and the Chocolate Factory. Unfortunately, I only have two books by Roald Dahl and I read both. I really enjoyed both. I think I should buy more English books for my Independent Reading.

The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (189 pages)

Peter, Susan, Lucy and Edmund send to a professor's house. They are all so bored so, they explore the house. When Lucy sees the wardrobe, she gets in there. But, she realizes that there is no back side of wardrobe. Soon, she enters Narnia. A faun sees her first, and brings her into his house. But, he cries because of liability for a crime. He tells Lucy all about White witch that she is bad and tries to collect all son of Adam, and daughter of Eve and Lucy is one of the daughters of Eve. Faun sends Lucy back to her world. She tells everybody, but no one believes it. One day, they plays hide and seek. Edmund finds the wardrobe. He hides in wardrobe, and enters to the Narnia.

He first sees the Witch. Witch gives him Turkish delight and asks many questions. Finally, she tells that bring everyone to her house. Next, they all go into wardrobe. Susan and Peter didn't believe Lucy, but when they enter Narnia, they all believe Lucy. Lucy leads them to Faun's house, but Faun is not there and his house is destroyed. They follow a bird, and finds beaver family. Beaver family tells a lot of things about White Witch and about Narnia. It is winter all time, but no Christmas. Mrs. Beaver also tells that Aslan is coming. Before she finishes story, she realizes that Edmund is gone. Edmund enters Witch's house and tells that Alsan is coming. Witch got angry of Edmund comes along, and she prepares to catch other tree kids. Tree kids and beaver family, they packs their carriage and goes to "stone table" while they walks, father of Christmas come and gives present to them. The witch's spell was breaking. When they arrives stone table, they meets Aslan and his company. Then, he sends some of them to rescue Edmund. Witch tells Aslan about "Deep magic" and the traitor of Narnia's blood is hers. So Aslan sacrifices him. He dies and Witch starts to attack the Aslan's army. Then, Aslan revives and attacks the Witch's army. Finally, Witch runs away, and Aslan wins the war.

I would like to be friend with Beaver's family because they are so nice to others. They have great personality. If I enter the Narnia, I will find Beaver family and I'm going to live with them. Living with beaver will be a great fun. We can go fishing, to catch our foods, or I can just walk around. Mrs. Beaver will make delicious food for me. Moreover, I can help beaver's families to build houses. It will be very fun to live with beaver's family.

I enjoyed reading this book because it is the fantastic novel. First, it was little boring to me. But, it changes. It is fun later. Edmund betrayed his brothers and sisters. But later, he comes back to join Aslan. That is very impressive to me. The story was quiet fun too.
