Katie is main character in this book who is from Japanese,lives in America. The first word that Katie learns from her sister,Lynn is kira kira which means glittering in Japanese. Katie describes everthing that she likes kira kira Lynn is Katie's best friend. Lynn knows a lot of things, she has good heart. They move to another town where Katie's uncle lives because of parent's job. When they first move to another town it's hard to adapt new life for them, also they are hard to see their parents. After some times her sister,Lynn gets very sick so that Katie often take care of Lynn. When her sister dead from lymph, Katie mentally gets tired. When Katie feel sad, painful and so on she tries to think the word Kira-Kira that her sister taught to Katie.

I would like to friends with a main character Katie. Katie has order sister who always care of Katie. They support each other and really like each other. However after her sister,Lynn died from disease, Katie becomes very lonely. So I like to friends with Katie I can support Katie like Lynn and also I like glittering things.

I really like this book. I like the way that express  character's feeling. In this book main character Katie tells us story. When I visited America I bought this book for friend's recommendation. Friends told me ending of this story that someone is dead. I felt boring in the begging of the book, but after I really like this book.
